Deleting files on iPhone

Deleting files on iPhone

Do you want to delete everything or just selected files? It makes a difference.

Voulez-vous supprimer tout ou fichiers sélectionnés seulement? Cela fait une différence.

Connect your iPhone to iTunes. Select the MUSIC tab under your iPhone, then select the first track. It will be highlighted in blue. Scroll to the end of the list, and left-click on the last track while holding down the SHIFT key. All tracks will now be highlighted. Right click and select DELETE from the popup box.

Hope this helps.

You don't have to connect to PC if your on iOS 5.

Simply swipe to delete any song or album.

He wants to get rid of the lot. I thought it would be quicker to do it through iTunes rather than individually.

Oh...okay....iTunes would do this much better.

$iPhone test.jpg As you can see there is no delete option

Actually.....since iOS 5.0.1 I was not able to remove songs from my iPhone via iTunes.

I think I could delete one at a time....but when I shift+selected all of them I could not find a delete tab by right clicking. Idk.

Very strange. I only have a 16gig 4s but hundreds of ggs of music so I'm constantly swapping music around on my phone via iTunes (wired connection of course). Never had this problem... Try uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling...

That is different than what I'm saying I think.

I mean like:

Plug phone into iTunes.

Go to your selected playlist

Select all (shift+ click first and last song)

See if you can just completely delete that play list.

I have not been able to find a delete/remove button.

If I want to delete a song I have to do it on phone.

Yea....this is what I'm saying,..

Before iOS 5.0.1, (no...not iTunes 10.5 or 10.6...)

I could easily select a whole playlist of music and delete them all from my phone.

Is Apple trying to force us to use the the device to delete our music???

Well...which can be done via Settings> General> Usage> Music> tap edit. Tap delete button...then virtually all music is deleted.

I literally just remembered that like rite now.lol.

So if you do want to just cone rely remove all of your music go to Settings> General> Usage> Music> tap edit. Tap delete button.

Ok I miss understood I think. I do not use playlists. I just move entire CDs back and forth. All my "work" is done in the "music" tab, not the "playlists" tabs...
