MacRumors reports today that according to a new survey of 1,004 U.S. consumers by Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster, demand for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus continues to grow since the two phones launched back in September.
Of those consumers surveyed who said that they planned to buy a smartphone in the next three months, 50% said that they planned to buy an iPhone. When a similar survey took place back in September, that figure was at 47%.
As MacRumors notes, this rise is in contrast to the survey results back in 2013 for the iPhone 5s, when demand fell for that handset after launch, down from 50% planning to buy in September 2013 to 44% planning to buy in December 2013.
“Overall we believe this shows that consumers are extremely interested in the larger screen iPhone 6, a testament to the strength of the current upgrade cycle,” commented Munster.
