TouchArcade reports today on the possibility that the forthcoming, long overdue Duke Nukem Forever console game could be coming to iOS. They were alerted by an eagle-eyed forum member who happened to notice that the Apple App store is mentioned in the small print on the Duke Nukem Forever page on Steam. The reference is in regard to Additional License Terms for the Apple App store, prompting TouchArcade to wonder just why it was there, and if could possibly be an indication that Duke Nukem Forever might be coming to iOS devices as well as consoles? As they point out, the classic original game, Duke 3D, is already available in the app store (and very good it is too!), so hearing Dukes dulcet tones growling come get some, or hail to the King, baby! may not just be a pipe (bomb) dream! TouchArcade even goes so far as to say that its possible that the new games developers, Gearbox, could be using the Unreal Engine, which is also highly iOS-compatible. If I had to take an educated guess, Id say that its extremely likely that DNF will be coming to iOS in some form or other, which is an exciting prospect! The console version is due out on June 10, so we shouldnt have too long to wait for an announcement about an iOS version. Or is that tempting fate when talking about Duke Nukem Forever?!
