Dunkin’ Donuts has today announced the launch of its first mobile app, which will enable the user to pay for food and drink in Dunkin’ Donuts, as well as send gifts to other people. Basically, when you visit a Dunkin’ Donuts in the US, the app will enable you to purchase, manage and reload your Dunkin’ Donuts Card; pay right from the app via a virtual Dunkin’ Donuts Card, by simply accessing the app and offering it to a crew member to be scanned for payment; send an mGift of a Dunkin’ Donuts Card, in denominations from $2 to £100; find your nearest Dunkin’ Donuts; read nutritional facts for your favourite menu items; and link to Dunkin’ Donuts social media communities.

“Dunkin’ Donuts is committed to developing and delivering technology that supports our growth and distinguishes our brand for offering the very best guest experience,” said Nigel Travis, Dunkin’ Brands CEO and Dunkin’ Donuts President, U.S. “Today’s launch of the new Dunkin’ Mobile App is an exciting and important day for both Dunkin’ Donuts’ guests and our franchisees. This is a clear example of our determination to invest in technologies that help us exceed our guests’ expectations and enable our franchisees to run their restaurants as efficiently and effectively as possible.”

Once NFC gets on board with the new iPhone, we can just tap with apps like these. Glad to know mobile payments is making some headway on iOS too

I was reading reviews of this in the app store and numerous people have stated that it is basically just a copy of the Starbucks app. That when trying to use the app to pay after loading money on it they were told by cashiers that the app doesn't work and received crazy looks.
