Electronic technitian apps

O I'm an electronics technician, I work with radio communications, satellite communications, and radar navigations. All that nerdy stuff. I just recently got a free iPod touch from my work and I want to load it with helpful apps and documents. Any ideas on any cool apps? Preferably ones that don't require Internet connection as my job puts me out in the middle of the ocean.
