Email address showing up in text message.

I installed the messenger app for Facebook today. Now my friend says my email address for icloud (apple) shows up in the test messages I send from my iPhone. I have deleted Messenger on Facebook, deleted my icloud email & it still shows up. Anyone have any ideas I could try?

I'm not sure if this will help, as you've already removed the email address:
In Facebook - Settings - General, select "Email". Tap the padlock and select "Only Me".
Enable "Use your Facebook email address" below, if your email address isn't there any more.

Thank you. I deleted the icloud email from my IPhone & the problem is now solved. I think the problem started because I was on Facebook on my iPhone & the icloud address was put as primary. Thanks to this forum I am not afraid to try to solve some issues now.

As an FYI, this could be what was causing your problem, go to Settings>Messages Send & Recieve as. You should see this page:

Check your phone number if you want the messages to come from it instead of your Apple id address.
