Email notice - "Invalid password" - ???

I hadn't changed anything on my iPhone or Yahoo email settings, and last night I got a popup error on my iPhone telling me in a popup message that it was unable to send an email message because my password was incorrect. Even though I went into the email settings and changed it to what I know is correct, it still didn't let me send, at which point I just went to bed. Today so far, though, I'm able to send and receive like normal. What would cause my phone to do this?

I get this with my yahoo account both with my Macbook Air and the iphone 4s.

In my case its a known glitch between Yahoo and Apple products.

I just dismiss the pop up.

I don't know the actual cause, but I agree with chunky. It happens from time to time. As long as I haven't made any changes I just leave my settings alone because there's always the outside chance that I could accidently type in the wrong password trying to get it to work and then things really would be messed up! If it happens again don't get too excited and see if it corrects itself in a few hours.
