Erasing personal data

I'm a newbie.
I have to pass a Iphone to my insurers who paid out when it was lost . ( I have since found it!)
How do I erase all my personal data before I mail it to them?

Hook it up to iTunes and do a restore Select original factory settings.

Another option is to:
1) Go to Settings
2) General
3) Reset
4) Erase All Content and Setting
