I tried updating 4.2.1 3gs to 5.1.1. today. I managed to update it to original ipsw 5.1.1. Then I tried to jailbrake it using redsnow, everything went fine but at the end of the process redsnow showed the text that this was tethered jailbrake. I saw I can use rocky app from cydia to make it untethered. Thats what it did. I installed few more apps. When I restarted the phone it didnt want to go on again. Now as I see its in dfu mode. I tried restoring it via itunes to 5.1.1. again but I get 3194 error, when I fix the host file I get 1600 error and all the way around in the loop. I cannot turn on the phone. Only way I can see its working is when I click fix recovery from tinyumbrella - the screen turns on but its a blank white screen.
What do you suggest I do ?
