With Mondays WWDC iOS 5 announcement from Apple confirming that Twitter will be deeply integrated in iOS 5 when its released in the Fall, other social networking services could have been forgiven for feeling a little left out in the cold, but AllThingsD reveals today that the likes of Facebook and LinkedIn get a little consolation prize by being included in the contacts information page in the address book, according to the first iOS 5 beta release. Its not exactly the sort of deep integration in the very fabric and being of the OS that Twitter is enjoying from its high perch, but it does mean that when entering a contacts email address and phone number, you can also include links to their Facebook, Flickr, LinkedIn and Myspace accounts. All you then have to do to be taken to that page is click on the name of the service on the contacts page.
According to AllThingsD, the developer who initially told them about the feature said that the social integration in the beta is a bit buggy, but ironing out those sort of bugs is exactly what a beta's all about, of course!
