Silicon Republic reports today that RTÉ Radio 1 in Ireland will on Saturday at 6.45pm be broadcasting what it's claiming is the worlds first radio programme to be created completely on an iPhone. The show, which is, fittingly, all about mobile phones, was recorded, edited and sent for broadcast using just the iPhone and no other equipment whatsoever.
Its a bit of a gimmick, producer Ronan Kelly told Silicon Republic, just to see if it can be done and it can!
In the show, Kelly interviews mobile phone users in Cork, Ireland, including a skier who uses his smartphone to check his altitude when skiing, an Armenian man who mends mobiles in a little kiosk in a shopping centre and a woman who talks about chain texts as a way for young people to pay their respects when one of their peers has died.
If youre interested in listening to the worlds first iPhone-only show (as far as RTÉ Radio 1knows!), you can download it from here once its been broadcast.
