According to a report on Bloomberg today, Foxconn has once again started hiring employees at its Chinese factory in preparation for the manufacture of the next iPhone. Bloombergs sources, who are familiar with Foxconns plans, said that new workers have been hired at Foxconns Zhengzhou plant in eastern China, with recruitment taking place over the past month, thus bringing the hiring freeze that began in February to a halt. The new employees will not just be working on assembling the next iPhone, but will also be assembling current iPhone models. Bloomberg says that the new hires come about as the result of a request from Apple, who wanted Foxconn to increase its capacity. According to Bloomberg, Foxconns Zhengzhou plant currently has around 250,000 to 300,000 employees. A spokesman for Foxconn declined to comment on the matter when approached for a quote by Bloomberg. In another similar report today, the Wall Street Journal said that Foxconn has hired 10,000 new employees a week to work on the assembly lines since the end of March.[/FONT]
