iMore reports that the million-selling Goat Simulator game is coming to iOS. Developed by Coffee Stain, the game was originally intended as an April Fool’s Day joke, but has gone on to sell almost 1 million copies in under five months after the joke trailer got a million views.
Gameplay is very simple: you control a goat. A very destructive goat!
Joystiq reports that speaking at GDC Europe today, Coffee Stain Studio’s Armin Ibrisagic said that the company made back the money that it spent on the game in 10 minutes.
The game has gone on to become a cult classic, spawning all sorts of tributes and memes, including a real live goat simulator!
As the game’s Wiki says:
Goat Simulator is a small, broken and stupid game. It was made in a couple of weeks so don’t expect a game in the size and scope of GTA with goats. In fact, you’re better off not expecting anything at all actually. To be completely honest, it would be best if you’d spend your $10 on a hula hoop, a pile of bricks, or maybe a real-life goat.
No word as yet on when the game will be released.
