Google Calendar question on iphone ios Iphone 13, 16.2 regarding Notifications please...
I notice two things - On Samsung phone I had for years with Google Calendar if I set up an event with no notification in advance (no minutes set)--I would still get a notif on Samsung phone to let me know.
Could be like "Weekly Meeting", "Call Jim", Look at Bank account", "Take out trash", "Wife's birthday" etc... Never set up a reminder/task. I put everything in events.
So I noticed on my iphone that there is no notification of the event IF I do not set a time notification prior to the event. Even a minute would work and I would get a notification.
So I guess with new iPhone I will have to default notification on some events to 1 minute or something. Same if I want it to appear on Desktop PC. ??????????????????????????

I think I have all settings right on iphone for Google Calendar and do include "ON", Time Sensitive events" or that might be in apple calendar on iphone which I have off as of this writing. Been trying everything. I am signed in to Google.
I did shut off notifications from the iphone Calendar which I do not use so I do not get duplicate notifications...But perhaps I should turn that on and I might get notifications for those Google Events with no "time ahead" notification.
Thoughts???
I know I asked a lot of questions of late and do appreciate the help.

Thank you
Peter

I've also got issues with gcal re notifications, see my post for iphone SE. The notifs are perfect on my android tablet but on my ipjone se they stop coming after a few days. Tried everything to fix, updating makes no difference. I think the problem is Ios and/or bug in gcal.

Do you have your Gcal configured in the Apple calendar app?

No. Are you saying thats the solution or making a suggestion?. I've tried it with and without the apple calendar and it made no difference, the notifications always stop after a few days. Run in background is enabled and so is time sensitive.

Not a solution, just trying to see how you have Gcal configured. Some people have it signed into their Apple Calendar app, others have it through Gmail, Outlook, etc. It helps me troubleshoot with you.

Is it always the same? Like you set it up, and then everytime exactly 3 days later, or 5 days later, it stops working?

It's very weird that it works and then just stops sending notifications.

I did find this comment here on Reddit, something to try?

In case this helps anyone else, I had to go to my desktop settings and turn off my desktop alerts in order to get notifications sent to my iphone (click on the gear near the top right > settings > notification settings > notifications off). I'm guessing what was happening is that when I have a google calendar tab open on my laptop, it would send an alert there instead of sending one to my iphone.

I don't have or use gcal on my pc's, but I might be signed into google on them. On my iPhone gcal is signed in with my google sign in, it's not connected to acal at present. I don't use any other Google services or apps on my iPhone. If i swipe close gcal after using it and don't use it (on iPhone) the notifications will stop after say 3 days. If I leave gcal running in the background and don't use it (on iPhone) the notifications stop after say 10 days. But they always stop eventually if gcal isnt used (on the iphone) regardless of gcal and ios versions. To restart the notifications on the iPhone its necessary to use gcal again on the iPhone. Gcal works perfectly for me on android. I'm surprised there aren't any posts about this issue, it can't be just me. Note that I edit gcal using android tablet and rely on the iPhone for notifications. Ta
