[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfKChchmv5A]YouTube - Google Latitude App for iPhone[/ame]
The Google Mobile Blog today announced the official launch of the Google Latitude app for iPhone. The app enables you to see exactly where your friends are and continuously share your location, even when it's closed. Latitude, a Google Maps feature, launched last year for mobiles and as a web application, but everyones been waiting a long time for this iPhone app to appear. According to the blog, Latitude has but one goal to make it easier for you to keep in touch with your friends and family by letting them know your exact location, and you theirs. And hopefully it will eliminate those frustrating text and voice communications weve all had when trying to find someone were meeting: "Where are you?", "I'm here!", "Where?!" etc. The idea appears to be that you simply have to glance at your phone to see how near your friend is, and of course you'll always have built-in directions to the meeting location via the Google map. If youre worried about privacy and safety issues, the app enables you to have complete control over who does and doesnt get to view and track your location.
The app is free and you can download it by clicking here: Google Latitude for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), and iPad on the iTunes App Store
