This week, Google released an update for its Google Voice service in an attempt to fine-tune it for the iPhone 5s 16:9 screen. The update improves app performance and brings along some welcomed bug fixes. The new app will only function on devices sporting iOS 4.3 or higher, leaving owners of the original iPhone and iPhone 3G out in the cold sadly. Nevertheless, users of those devices probably didn't need the update anyway.
So far, the bug fixes havent been specified, but obviously, iPhone 5 users will feel the most the difference. Owners of the iPad and iPod touch should give it a try and update as well. Even so, the old style Google interface hasnt been fixed, so the search giant still has a lot of work to do regarding the design. They can do it, weve seen it in the makeovers apps like Google+ and Gmail. Slowly, Google is pushing its aesthetic design into the Android and iOS environment, but this takes time.
Google Talk is an integrated Gmail service that enables users to make video and voice calls via the Google Talk app. Users can dial numbers directly from their Google Contacts and even record their calls which automatically generate transcripts.
