Grayed out Songs in Music App?

In my list of songs in the Music app, over half of the songs are grayed out and not available. Why is that? Why are there songs listed that aren't available to play?

They probably didn't sync with your iPhone. Just plug your iPhone into your computer or laptop and sync. or sync over wifi. if that still doesn't work then the mp3 files probably were not found by your iTunes library. Which means you need to redownload the song most likely, unless it is somewhere in your hard drive.
