hi all,
i am interested in buying an i touch or i phone for the artificial horizon capibility. i would like to know if any of the models actually have electronic gyros .
thanks, bob noffs

no. a gyro stays in the same position and spins on ''gimbals'' as you tip or change the position of the gyros supporting frame the gyro stays in the same position. this is a mechanical gyro , an electronic gyro senses all this and makes a display which never changes position. in an airplane the artificial horizon has a gyro in it and shows the change in attitude of the airplane in relation to the horizon. climb, dive, bank left or right. the nexus 7 tablet has these gyros, i want to know if the i pad or touch has them.

Ah yes. All iDevices after the 3GS iirc comes with a gyroscope, otherwise then it's all devices after the 4
