Have a 3GS and want to link a tablet to get it internet access

I am having "issues" with choosing a tablet that can get internet access via my iPhone 3GS. iPads are an option but pricey and I just need to run the LogMeIn app so I can connect and run apps on one of my desktop computers in my home when I am on the road. I am considering an android device, however, not sure I can connect through my iPhone to get to the internet.

Any help, suggestions will always be appreciated.

Are you talking about "tethering".

Meaning....I tether my iPhone to my computer so I can use my iPhone's 3G data connection on my computer, and other wifi devices.

Is that what you are talking about?
