A lot of the time when I am driving in my car or doing something else that doesn't allow me look down, I want to change my music. My device isn't always in the lock position so a double tap anywhere after the lockscreen will make my previously open and background apps show instead of my iPod controls. To get to my iPod controls, I have to do another swipe, this just won't do. I rather be able to change my songs, pause, and play them like previous iOS versions did with a simple pop up.
