Health Data not working

I bought a "new" iPhone 5 Sunday to replace my 6 that grew legs last week. I realized this evening that the Health Data's tracking is blank. No miles, no steps, no flights of stairs. Any troubleshooting ideas? What else should I suspect is not working? I use this feature constantly.

The phone is running on iOS 9.0.1.

Go to the Health app, open the Health Data tab, go to Fitness, and make sure "Show on Dashboard" is enabled in Steps, Walking + Running Distance, ...
If they are, and your Dashboard still doesn't show anything, disable and enable them again. If that doesn't help, restart your iPhone: turn it off and on again.
