help...I'm stuck!

Hi all.

Happy holidays!

I actually posted this on the newbie page but with hindsight maybe I should've came here.
I've searched through various threads but unable to find a 'match' for my query, apologies if I've missed something.

My problem is I find I'm stuck with 'no service' showing, plus a padlock symbol - iPhone4 - at the top in the middle of the screen. I've tried various links on youtube with no success so far...any ideas anyone please?

Just a few questions first so i can help you further,

What Device do you have?
What firmware is it on?
Where did you buy it from? locked or sim free?
are you using the carrier it is locked to? (if locked)

what does itunes do when you plug it in?

The lock at the top of the screen is portrait orientaion lock which means it wont turn landscape mode. To turn this off, double click the home button. (multitasking). Then scroll right or left until you see the music/iPod controls, then look for the portrait orientation lock option.

As far as No Service, what carrier are you on?
