Help: new user - sim question

Hi,

Ive just got a iphone 3g. I wanted to keep my old phone number so got a pac code and enetered on the providers forms. Now waiting for the number to be transferred over.

My phones on charge and i'm desperate to use it, but can i put the sim card into the new phone before the number has been transferred? Or do i have to wait until its been transferred before adding the sim?

Hello and welcome to the forum....... in answer to your question, i believe you have to wait till its done transferring but if you i would just encase something was to go wrong.

This is surely the same as changing sims on an unlocked or on same provider handset?, on my spare unlocked N95 when i swap out sims, I get a text about new voicemail number and a welcome message.


Best bet is call the provider to be sure
