help no sound when playing music without headset

I have no sound when playing music without headset
ringer works ok without headset but when the buttons + and - are changed with headset out the ringer symbol comes up but doesnt show the dots
i can play you tubes sound using headset but when unplugged no sound
when some one calls me ringer works and volume can be adjusted
when headset is put in ringer says headset and can be adjusted so its not stuck in headset mode.
basically ringer/sound wont work without headset unless some one calls then it does ring

Do you have the mute switch enabled.

yes mute switch is fine orange bit not showing when i play apps i can hear sound without headset
its only playing stored music , you tubes or internet radio.

strange thing is if i play a voice memo its ok hmmm odd
