help with jailbreak

i have verizon with 4.2.8 and i have down loaded redsnow and dowloaded the 4.2.8 restore. when i downloaded 4.2.8 it came in a zip file,when i extract all i get is a bunch of files so redsnow will not find the ipsw. i am using winrar and it unzips evrything fine.should i have to change a filename somewhere? i know it has got to be something simple.

I have changed the name to .ispw and red snow will not find it. don't know what to try???

dont use internet explorer to download the .ips and its not a .zip you are downloading.. its just internet explorer seems to recognise it as one for some reason, so really what you are doing is extracting the .ipsw so thats why you can do anything with it extracted
