help with music app

hi all just needing some help for a music app thats free and that you could type the song into to get the year that the song was out

like oasis roll with it 1995

Take a look at the app Soundhound. You can do a search for a certain song and it will tell you the artist (and the year it came out). That's just one of the things the app does.

You can get the free version (there is also a paid version).

There is another app called Shazam. That one is also free. I am sure there are more - these are just the two I know.

Both have their strengths depending on the music genre you are identifying but for me Soundhound proved more accurate.
I used it to identify most of those unlabelled songs in my huge iTunes library.
