help with redsn0w crash

I have iphone 4 with 4.3.5 firmware. I can get the redsn0w to do the first part of the jailbreak but when I try to do the second (the tethered boot) it crashes. The guide here says to put it on compatibility mode for windows xp service pack 3 but I only have windows xp service pack 2 which doesn't work. What should I do?

redsn0w can still be temperamental on some hardware and particularly with Vista. Setting SP2 should be OK, but ALSO try this...

Once redsn0w is running, open task manager by right-clicking the start bar and choosing "Start Task Manager", activate 'show all user processes' at the bottom, right click redsn0w in the processes list, then select Affinity and then tick only "CPU 0".

Sometimes this will do the trick.

Also, you can try a different USB port and cable (particularly if you are not using your phones original cable).
