Home & Lock screen battery usage?

I did not see this anywhere. Hope it has not been discussed & I missed it. I was wondering if anyone knows why the battery usage for Home & Lock screen on my iphone 5 is so high? I was checking settings & usage after the new ios 8 update & noticed the high amounts of battery usage. I have seen 43 & 44 % in the last 24 hours. Maybe this is normal. I just want to see what others notice.

Ya mines pretty high, BUT NOT 43%! Wow thats high

It still shows high usage but my battery life improved some when I made some changes. So I will see how it goes. I have not seen anyone else who has a high usage like mine.
