The back of my iPhone 4s feels too hot when i charge... Should I worry?

Nope, just on the countertop.

As long as you are below 110F you should be fine. But mine, in a year of use, probably never got above 100 while charging.

Might be the adapter. Sometimes the voltage or ampage might be different.

I never use a third party adapter... with that said, doesn't the Apple adapter/charger have a built in protection if the battery is too hot?

As long as your iPhone doesn't remain hot throughout the day I don't see the problem here. You could have multiple programs running in the background while your iPhone is charging too. Back grounded apps are always running until you close them manually

Are you useing any fantasy cases by chance?
If yes , take that off.

I use a bumper case that goes around the phone.

Bumpers are light and don't cover the battery so it's not the case

Maybe I'm just worrying over nothing then...
