Hotspot monthly fee?

My parents, in their 80's, have a Verizone iPhone 4 and are considering getting a tablet of some sort. They want to be able to use it away from their wifi. If they used their iPhone 4 as a hotspot does anyone know what the monthly fee for a hotspot is? And would they still have to pay a monthly data charge on the tablet? They have unlimited data on their phone now and they don't want to lose it if at at possible. But they REALLY don't like the idea of monthly charges.

Depends. Some reps can overlook it, others will go by the book. You can jailbreak it and tether for free assuming you don't get caught. The chances are slim if you use PDANet. MyWi does have a slightly higher chance side it doesn't mask any data above about 800mb well
