How can tell if the wifi network I connect has WEP, WPA OR WPA 2 encryption?

Hello 3GSers!,

How can tell if the wifi network I connect to has WEP, WPA OR WPA 2 encryption?

I really would like to know what kind of security some wifi networks have so I can decide whether or not to connect to them on my 3GS .

The only way I know is to use a Mac, and Option-Click the wifi symbol. The security type will appear in a drop down information box.

AFAIK the encryption type doesn't matter on iOS. It'll enter the password for the correct encryption type

Perhaps one can find an app that tells one the encryption of the wifi on the 3GS before connecting?
