I like the pop up since I am going to be going from my Droid (with the blinking LED light) to the iPhone. I'd like to be able to see if I have new mail from the lock screen.

You can only do it if you jailbreak. I forget what the app is called though but there is a few different ones...

Any that are super good? Can you name some? I might consider jailbreaking for this purpose...

Im jailbroken but I use a non jailbroken app called Mail Notifier, it pushes your email immediately instead of every 15 mins and it notifies you its great!

You don't need an app for push. It's supported out of the box.

There is a few different ones that only do mail alerts but I don't know the names. For an all in one lock info is by far the best. Search for it on google and you will see what I mean...

Um, if you use GMail you get push email anyhow.

Plus, I already saw that app. It gets HORRID reviews, it's subscription based, and you basically have to set up two email accounts replete with icons and unread message badges.

No thanks, I'd stick without something at all rather than buy a subscription for a crappy service.

Thanks, I'm going to try it here shortly. I'm waiting for Cydia to initialize.

I can't find Lockinfo on the Cydia market. I can find THEMES for it, but I can't find the app itself.

I know you get push but you have to wait for it, this does it immediately and notifies you.

Um, no you don't. If I have my Android with GMail app, iPod Touch, and computer with GMail open, they all get it around the same time. Sometimes my iPod Touch actually gets it before the other two.

The whole point of push is to get it 'pushed' to your phone from the mail server when it receives it. Fetch is like push but the phone has to go 'fetch' the mail itself every so often, depending on what you set it to...
