How do you turn off the automatically open app function?

I've noticed that when I am browsing Chrome or any other browser application that it opens up apps instead of visiting the website? For example when I am using Crhome and looking at something on Imdb it opens up the app instead of going to the webpage. How do I turn this off? I tried request desktop web page, but you have to do it every time.
