How far back does the calander app keep data ?

How far back does the calander app keep data ? One month, 2 months ? Is there a setting ? It seems to me to be less than 2 months. I have lost notes for earlier this year.

I have my calendar app sync with my google calendar and my phone shows 6 months back but if i goto calendar.google.com i can go all the way back to the beginning.
