You can't downgrade as you don't have the application.
I guess you should jailbreak (if there is a Jailbreak for iOS 5.0).
Redsn0w Jailbreak, and then unlock it.

Ur lucky I went to jailbreak download center and it gave me list of jailbreaking items XD and I used limera1n it look like it did something but nothing happen I need help because I rlly wanna jailbreak iPod 5.0.1 if its updated you can't get cyida yet only from I think red snow but be Very carful with tht XDDDD
