how to turn off iphone 4 without using the screen and the power button?

my iphone 4(running ios 6) which has a broken power button has a black screen of death.what i mean is that without doing anything to it,the screen became black .my phone is for sure turned on tho because i called my number from another phone and the other phone was getting ringing sound.My iphone tho wasn't ringing or vibrating.Also i checked if i could do anything using the dock but nothing happened as well.the computer doesn't recognize the device.
Is there any was i can get it to turn off without using the power button and the screen?Any kind of combination?
Do these signs that i have given you come to the point that my iphone has to be rebooted only?

I don't think you can do enything about it. It must be a HW issue, so I think your only option is service.

do you think that if i send it to only get the power button fixed i will be able to turn it off and then on again?
