Hi,
Sorry if this has come up before. I have a cable with the iPhone connector on one end and 3 RGB phonos and a USB on the other. It works well for watching movies from the iPhone on the TV except that when I connect the USB to charge the phone, it starts a humming sound on the TV, like a loop is being created. Is there some way to stop this happening - without unplugging the USB? I'm in the UK btw.

Are you using the official Apple cable? I have the official cable and I'm watching an iPhone video on my TV right now. I can't hear any humming sound on my TV. Are the phone and TV plugged into the same circuit?

Have you checked for proper grounding in the circuits the TV and iPhone are plugged into?

BTW, I'm watching Red Dwarf.

Thank you Scifan, glad you're watching something of quality....! A good point about using an Apple cable. I don't know about earthing, just that I have tried it in several rooms in our house and it still hums, so think I'll acquire an Apple cable.

Thanks for the reply - much appreciated.

Have you considered trying it in a friends house? If it work there without the humming sound, it's likely your cables that are the problem. Try this before spending money on new cables.

An excellent point, I will do that this weekend - thank you.
