I Cloud drive?

When on my phone and I put a document into my I Cloud drive, where does it go? Does it automatically get uploade to my I Cloud? Do I have to manually upload it to my I Cloud? I noticed that it is just sitting there in the I Cloud Drive app?

You can save files in iCloud Drive on your iPhone, and access them on other devices as well: Apple devices, such as iPad, iPod or Mac, as well as on your PC.
The files you save to iCloud Drive, use iCloud storage space.

Depending which iPad you have, you will need to either opt to show or download the iCloud App to view documents stored there.

iCloud Drive allows apps to store documents and data.

iCloud is an email account, can sync images, backs up your device, helps sharing images, syncs bookmarks and reading lists, saves your passwords (if you use keychain), can help finding your Apple device, ... With iCloud enabled, you can set up Family Sharing.

iCloud Drive is a part of iCloud.
