I need help

Ok I have an iPhone 4 trying to get my contacts picture to full screen when they call. It was a picture I had taken and saved from my phone. Everytime I try something I have read it doesn't work. I tried deleting the picture and saving it again. I deleted the contact and tried all over again everytime I so something still has my background when they call. Any suggestions?
