I touch found

Ok my daughter found her I touch 32 mb and has 888 songs in it.
I'd like to upgrade the software to OS5.01 her laptop she used is old old old I wonder if she can even upgrade there( we got her a new laptop for christmas).
I tried to upgrade on MY computer didn't work:-(
I would feel comfortable having the where's my iPhone software on it just in case.... These kids take their itouch everywhere Amd other kids steal them.
I guess one choice is factory reset delete the songs (YIKES) and than ahe can go on her laptop and reinstall her music??
I see that problematic TOO cause icloud would be under MY laptop!

I can tell her how now ahe has iPhone the itouch can't leave the house lol

Ahe ha a new laptop she can start her own iTunes there again, I'll start getting her an iTunes card again if no way around it.
I don't want it lost Amd not found again.
