iOS 4.3.5 and POP Mail (Bigpond) issue

I just updated my iPhone 4 (A1332) to iOS 4.3.5 (10-Aug) and now i have issues with the Mail app.

Specifically i am connected to Telstras Bigpond using POP.

When i try to delete, the app crashes out and returns to the mail screen.
The emails return upon re-entering the Mail app.

I have tried te swipe delete, edit and check box and even individually deleting mail messages and exiting mail after each delete. No luck.

My previous version (4.3.3) worked fine.

Has anyone else seen a similar issue? If you are a bigpond or POP mail user, can you test it and let me know?
