So, I was just watching the replay of the Keynote from yesterday, and it says in IOS 4.3 the Hotspot feature will be built in. Verizon wants $20 a month for this. Will they strip this from IOS 4.3 for Verizon?

Nor will it work for neither carrier without the tethering plan.

Jailbreak ur phone download mifi and u got the hotspur for a one time fee of twenty bucks instead of once a month.
You must not have seen the recent news articles. AT&T is cracking down on illegal tethering on the iPhone, mainly for users using MyWi. They are sending letters and texts to users that are tethering illegally stating that you need to purchase a $45 data plan which includes tethering. If you do not and continue to tether, they will add it automatically.

Androids are in the clear at this point.

Verizon will begin cracking down on jailbreakers and tethering as well.

Lol good luck. Verizon hadn't and won't.
They haven't, but you don't know they won't. Verizon likes to copy other carriers.

AT&T moved from unlimited data to tiered pricing, and now Verizon is doing the same. It's only a matter of time

I am sure Verizon will try and do the same at some point, but right now people that have Unlimited Data Plans, legally there is nothing Verizon can do with the people that has these plans, and as soon as they start doing this they will start loosing money....it is never good to limit people on what they can do by charging more......you will have the few that are willing and dumb enough to pay another 15 dollars a month for tethering....but tethering arent really that great on speed anyway......so its a dumb move from both AT&T and Verizon if Verizon will go the dumb route AT&T is.

If they find out your tethering they can act on that, either by adding a tethering plan or cancelling your plan altogether.

Well if they do that they will be loosing alot of customer which right now in this echonomy will be a suicide for the company.....unlimited data plan.....means unlimited data plan....not some data plan......tethering falls under the defination of data and should not be denied anyone who has unlimited data plan.....if this was the case they would have already started charging people for it.......so until they get everyone off unlimited data plan...they wont do anything about it.

Unlimited data means unlimited data for your phone. Nothing else. I'm sure you will find something in the small print of your contract called fair usage policy.

In saying that your are right, unlimited data should be just that. No soft caps no tethering limitations, it is after all unlimited... (apparently)

Read your contract, it states that you can not tether. Unlimited data means unlimited data on your phone. This wasn't as big of a deal before but with 4G coming out with much faster download speeds, they are realizing it will cause some major issues with people downloading hundreds of gigs per month.
