Ios 6 on the 4s

If I have jailbroke my 4s will this stop me updating to ios 6? If so how can I get it?

Hi,

I believe if your 4s is jail broken & you update to iOS 6 the jail break will not work. I think you have to remain jail broken until the new story ware is available for you to download. Do not attempt to update as your iPhone may get bricked as apple verify the software at the end!

You will need to restore via iTunes back to stock.

Then either set up as new or use a back up from before you jail broke or you'll transfer redundant Cydia files.

No exploit is currently available for iOS 6.

So if I restore it to before i jailbroke it then updated to iOS 6 .... I would have to wait for a jailbreak?

Jailbreak your device, open up Cydia and download the tweak called "No Update". It'll block any iOS updates unless you manually update it.

That will just not show me the updates in future , I do want the iOS 6 on my phone

iTunes reports an error the phone does not and will not get "bricked" the user will need to restore the device and continue with the upgrade to iOS 6 losing his previous jailbreak.
