iDownload Blog reports today that according to ad network Chitika, 83.1% of iOS users in the US are using iOS 6. Chitika arrived at this figure after taking a sample of ad impressions from iOS devices over one 24-hour period in February. Of that 83.1%, 52.8% were using iOS 6.1.0, 28.8% were using iOS 6.0., 12.2% were using iOS 5, 5% were using an earlier iOS, and 1.4% were using iOS 6.1.1, which has only just been released, and is only for iPhone 4S users. As iDownload Blog notes, the biggest reason for the big increase in uptake of iOS 6 this month is probably the fact that the evasi0n untethered jailbreak for iOS 6 was released last week. As iDownload Blog also points out, an adoption rate of above 80% for Apple’s newest software also shows that Apple’s update system is working well, with Apple thus avoiding the fragmentation of the Android OS.[/FONT]
