Apple held its first 2013 earnings conference call this yesterday and unveiled some pretty interesting facts. One of them relates to iMessages the messaging service that was introduced with the rolling out of iOS 5. The service has expanded to Mac computers, as well, being implemented in the OS X Mountain Lion version. iMessages constitute a quick and cost free alternative for Apple owners to interact with other device owners from the Cupertino family.
In the conference call that took place yesterday, it was announced that a whopping 2 billion iMessages are exchanged between iOS devices (iPhones, iPads, iPod touches and Mac computers) every single day.
iMessages have become everybodys favorite in a very short time and thats because the service features a few particularities that are irresistible to any users of modern technology. First off, theres no limit to characters when you type, so you can be sure youll be able to finish your thoughts. Secondly, you can see the other person typing just like in Facebook. Other than that, you can send read receipts, as well.
In addition to the information regarding iMessages, Apple also revealed that 60 million new iCloud users have joined the service in a short two months between October 2012 and December 2012. This was a pretty big jump from the numbers posted in October 190 million users. Therefore, this information seems to indicate that the iCloud implementation program led by Cupertino is going pretty well.
