Phone 1 of 4 :)

I'm building this iPhone 3G with pink housing for a friend for a relatively small fee considering the amount of hassle its caused me! :)

before the boot loop, it would proclaim that "the iPhone cannot make or recieve calls, restore in itunes" that was before...

it was on 3.1.3 and jailbroken (tell me off if I break some rules) but i've upgraded it to the latest firmware i can 4.1 and then 4.2.1 using snowbreeze

Now its just booting over and over. I'll upload some pics to illustrate

Any ideas/solutions??

Ive also swapped out the battery APN: 616-0391

Dont know what else to try, maybe theres a Guru passing through that knows what the frig is going on with it! :)

Thanks for reading

You should try going through the the jailbreak process again....are you using the latest version of sn0wbreeze tool...?

I believe version 2.9.6 is the latest? thats what I used.

before this I had version 3.1.3 official, did a custom ipsw with snowbreeze for version 4.1 and also 4.2.1, got the same results, stuck on the apple logo.

I can still get it in DFU mode if thats any help to those in the know!

EDIT: no idea what the baseband is, but I unchecked Ipad BB when building the custom IPSW.

Thanks for the reply.

Maybe theres a way to wipe it and install a fresh install on the ROM chips where the OS is kept?

The fiddly connector under two and 3 connectors (the one that breaks) I removed the ribon and that seemed to enable booting. I thought maybe I swapped out a 3gs part for a 3g part... but on ebay theyre sold as universally compatible. so maybe its the part thats faulty and preventing boot/causing the loop.

It's £4 for a new sensor earpiece flex.

I'll stay posting as this may help somebody

EDIT: this link also helped activation/"single bar" no service issues I had too
