I have a 4S but I still use my old "no service" 3GS for various things. My question is, how do I stop the updates from coming on my App store app?

you cant really. your apps will stop working. why cant u just update them..?

I could do that, it's just that I dont use this phone that often, so when I go to it I see maybe 8-10 updates and its sort of a pain. I guess the only answer is to delete the old apps.

Delete the launch daemon. I don't remember what it is called exactly but it is the only daemon with the word "daily" in it.

Delete that launch daemon, reboot, and the AppStore will no longer check for updates once a day. You will have to check manually after removing the daemon.
