Apologies if this has already been discussed somewhere but my searches have been fruitless.

My partner has just acquired himself an iphone 4 and I have a Nokia N95.

We do not seem to be able to send each other items via bluetooth such as photos, music etc. We cannot pair our phones either.

Can iphones only bluetooth items to other iphones? If so, this is extremely disappointing. You can buy pretty much any cheap run of the mill phone and send items via bluetooth to any other phone or your laptop if required - why would apple restrict this option?

Please help.

On an iPhone Bluetooth photo sharing is only allowed thru a 3rd party app. Anything else is just for use with headsets ect. Bluetooth is not a "connect to anything" (not even iphone to iphone) system like on other phones. But it kinda makes sense because it's not an open file system anyway.

its just the only way they can block the sharing of paid itunes songs and such i suspect.

you can connect to itunes through bluetooth somehow, but thats still not the same

i do miss just right clicking an item and simply bluetoothing it to my phone
not enough to go back, thats fer sure
