Iphone 4 bluetooth

Hi I have had my phone many months but have only just tried getting on Bluetooth but my phone isn't recognising any device. I have tried turning my phone off and on again but still not recognising any thing .. Any one have any tips?

Hi no it's to connect to a speaker which is Bluetooth ( works for my friends I phone 3)
