A fun story on TUAW today from one of their readers in the UK who used his iPhone to outfox a prankster who had been ringing his doorbell and then running away. For the past week it seems that the reader, named James, had been plagued by a mystery door bell ringer between 8 and 9 a.m. every morning. James said that he was never quick enough to catch the phantom ringer, and he found that waiting by the door didnt work either because he had to have his necked craned to see properly through the peephole, so he came up with the idea of attaching his iPhone 4 to the door, with the camera trained on the peephole to record the ringer in action. He waited by the door and when the bell rang at the usual time, pressed the camera button to take a picture. Apparently the photo came out as clear as a bell (sorry!), and James was able to see that the phantom ringer was the next-door neighbour's kid. They showed the evidence to his mother and that was that!
